Magnolia Down Under Challenge #16

Another great challenge from Magnolia down under. This weeks challenge was either

  • Pink, Brown, cream
  • Blue, Brown, cream or
  • Orange, Brown, cream
So to really make it a true challenge I went for pink. Which is not my fav colour. But I must say it's getting easier to work with. I coloured in Tilda with my markers and aqua pen. I must say the only Stampin Up product's on this is the choc chip ribbon/ brown D.S.P and the vanilla C.S. I was very lucky to win some fantastic blog candy off Kellie a while back and still had some D.S.P to use. I thought it was perfect for this challenge. So thanks again Kellie. I crimped some paper at the bottom and finished off with a three layered flower I found at a craft shop and a fiscers brad. I like it when I get to use my misc items.

But there is a touch of green in the flowers. I hope I don't get thrown out of the challenge. Forgive me girl's.

Fifth Ave Flowers

So I decided today to use my Fifth Ave Flowers Stamp Set. It is sad to say that I have only used it once and that was at Leonie's work shop. So I knew that I needed to get it out and put it to use. But of course some inspiration was needed. After looking at 30 pages of card's, I finally decide on a card to case. But as soon as I sit down I see the front page of the current catalogue and see that they have a great card that I can do. So this is the card I decided to case. I used riding hood red and choc chip. The only thing I changed is I used old olive instead of kiwi kiss. Also I added a second dimension to the big flower, which is hard to see in the photo. It was a very simple card but it has a lovely finish.

The second card was from SCS but due to the amount of card's I saw last night, I can't find it sorry. Black, baja breeze and white CS, ribbon and ink. I used the on your birthday set which I just got recently but am using all the time. Urban Garden D.S.P and finished off with a misc brad and a baja breeze flower. I know the flower cut off some of the sentiment, but I really wanted the flower in that corner. How funny is that. It just had to be. Lol

Happy 40th Russell

Well today my darling husband turned 40, and he is a massive Dr Who fan. Those who know Dr Who know that he travels around in a machine called the Tardis and fights aliens' and monsters. Any way the show is a big hit in our household and I knew that I had to make a card for him that resembles the show.

I must say that I could not think of anything to do for weeks and then just yesterday afternoon this popped into my head. So here is my great card and when I gave it to my husband he looked at it and went oh nice. Nice. It took me ages to think of something to do and he couldn't tell that it was supposed to be a T.V. He said I should of made a remote control. Silly me. Will know for next time.

Any way we had a lovely lunch followed by a beautiful choc mud cake made by a friend of mine Kim. Clever girl isn't she. Thanks Kim.

Cute Calander's

I don't know why but I really like or the calender stamp sets. But as of yet have not purchased any. I have never done a calender before and I think there a nice small gift to give a friend or teacher for their desk.

Any way I found on SCS last night a really cute calendar to make without the set. Check it out here. Thanks Nancy. Also check out here for free calendar print off's. Very cool.

So I used the A flower for all seasons stamp set. So saffron CS with urban oasis D.S.P. Some nice and thick choc chip ribbon to finish off. This was so simple to do and will go with lot's of little stamps that I have lying around.

Winterwonderland -Week 4

So as I promised last night here is the card that I made for the Winterwonderland challenge. Which of course is blue. So I have used cute and curly and crazy for christmas stamp sets. Bordering blue card stock and ink. Some misc D.S.P and finished off with a build a brad. Very simple christmas card which I think will be good for a man. Thanks for looking.

Very Busy

It's been a while since I have posted anything and just wanted to write a quick hello. It's been a full on couple of weeks in my house. Mostly due to the fact that my children and myself have been very sick. As most of you know there is alot of virus' going around. Anyway there hasn't been alot of time for stampin, but I have been keeping up with everyone's blog and am enjoying looking at all your different card's.

So finally tonight I have been creating. Am very excited about one of them, as I have never done it before. But due to the lack of light I will put my creations up tomorrow where hopefully you will see the pictures properly. So stay tuned. Lol

But I think it is time for me to hit the hay. I went to the amazing PINK!!! last night and am totally exhausted.

Good night all and happy stampin

Twins. Yeah

No I'm not pregnant with twin's. ( wipes brow with relief). My mum and dad thought they would pop in for a visit to say hi. Luckly they brought their vaccum cleaner, as mine is broken. Also dad drilled some holes in my laundry for my new dryer. Yeah. Thanks daddy. Anyway back to the twins. Some friends of my parents became grandparents yesterday to beautiful twins Oscar and Eva and of course mum needed a card straight away.

So here is what I came up with. I had made a card very similar to this before, so I just changed the colours around and added two babies. It's amazing how quick you can throw something together if you already have a idea on what to do.

Thanks for looking

3 Challenges in one

Today's super challenge is brought to you by Kristina's colour challenge #54, Winter Wonderland and Christmas Stampin all year. Well I have had a fun on weekend with work and cocktail parties, so no time for stampin. So today I decided to have a look at what challenges where going around. Then I came up with this great idea for combining some challenges with a colour challenge. Kristina's colours with let it snow from winter wonderland and Christmas all year needed buttons and ribbons. Was very happy with this combination.

I used the retired stitched snowman, snow flurries and the hostess set best yet. I had this great snow flake D.S.P that I got from a craft shop and never used. So am very excited that I'm finally using it. I coloured in using my inks and aqua pen using Kristina's colour challenge. But I must admit I did add choc chip for his branches and blush blossom for his cheeks. And I finished off with some really cool snow flakes that I found in a craft shop in Bright last year. I really enjoy making this card.

Thanks for looking

Mum's birthday

My darling mothers birthday is on next week, so I thought that I better get moving with a card for her. Mum wanted a voucher for her birthday so I wanted to put it in something special.

To start with I will need to thank alot of people for this post. I cased this really groovy bag at Mel's blog and used urban oasis paper. Finished off with a die cut flower, felt flower and a button. I must say that I really wanted to use one of my new filagree buttons, but they have gone missing. I am hoping that they turn up soon.

For the flower pot card, I got the idea at a team meeting from the very talented Debbie. Then Leonie made a bigger one, which is what I did last night. Thanks ladies. I didn't have any instructions of how to make the bigger one, so I thought that I was very clever making my own pattern. Yeah me.

And last but not least at Yvonne's team meeting the other day I was looking at some of her swaps from Convention. And some clever person had made a shop voucher holder. I don't know who did, but thank you. I thought it was a great idea and made one for my mum to hold her voucher. I hope she likes it. If you would like measurements for this let me know and I will email them to you.

This is the inside of the voucher holder.

As you can see I have stuck with the new in colours. I must say they are growing on me. I think that this has been my longest post ever. Now time for more stampin. Have a good day and thanks for looking.

Team Meeting

Another great day at Yvonnes team meeting on Sat. Lot's of great cards, food and company. Yvonne told and showed up lot's of tricks and techniques to use. She is a very clever lady. This is the card that I made for the shoe box swap. I cased it from Wendy from SCS. So thank you Wendy. I used whisper white, wild wasabi and riding hood red C.S and ink. Pocket Silhouette, snow flurries and many merry messges stamp sets. Here is the other card's that we made on the day. Thanks to, Leonie, Yvonne and Margaret for your great samples.

MDUC #14

Just a quick one today as I'm off to the Gisbourne Market. I hope it's not to late for the Magnolia challenge. I was at the very talented Yvonne's (upline) yesterday learning lot's of techniques, and one of those was crimping the paper after using the scallop punch. Very cool. Thanks for looking.
