Take Two

So here is my other card, hopefully with all petals blue and leaves green. I also trimmed the card down, so it will fit in the standard card envelope. I used the From the Garden stamp again, but changed the colour of the flowers to brocade blue with old olive and so saffron markers. Got to love the markers. Brocade blue CS, and old olive and brocade blue ribbon to finish it off. Enjoy looking.

From the Garden

I got this lovely flower the other day and thought I better do something with it. I just love the simplicity of this card. I used the From the Garden stamp with regal rose, old olive and so saffron CS, ribbon and markers. I really like the way it turned out. But don't look to closely as I made a small mistake and marked one of the leaves a flower petal. Oppsy. Never mind. No one ever looks that close anyway. Unless you are a card maker yourself. Anyway I hope you like it. I am going to make another one now, hopefully without pink leaves.

Color Challenge #26

Color Challenge #26 from Kristina Werner.

I know that this colour challenge is over, but I really wanted to do the challenge. I used the wild about you stamp set. Pretty basic, but I like it. You can't see properly, but I have sponged around the edges of the sun to give it that nice soft sun look, but it hasn't come up in the photo. Never mind. My first challenge complete and I can't wait for the next one.

Black Bird

I borrowed the always stamp set off Leonie and all I knew is that I wanted to make a black bird. Once I embossed the bird black, I had no idea what to do.

Finally after thinking for way too long I came up with this little birdie. I used black and white CS and cuttle bugged the white with a tree back ground. A bit of black ribbon and some misc feathers. I must say I love this card. Especially since it is all my design. What do you think?

Marvelous Mosaics

I was looking at the WOW demonstration DVD from Stampin Up and the first demonstration I saw, I wanted to do. Not sure the lady's name, but what she did was great.

So here are some of my card's.

The first one I did was using always artichoke, purley pomegrante, river rock CS and Holiday HarmonyDSP. I used my holiday basics stamp set and a misc sentiment.
The second card was using Almost Amethhyst and white CS with a misc DSP and sentiment. I used the holiday basics tree aswell. I embossed the stocking and tree to tie into the card.

But the beauty of this card is in the mosaic paper.

To start with get some double sided sticky paper. For the squares, I cut a stripe about an inch thick and then randomly cut the squares. So what you do is peel off one side of the sticky paper and then cover your paper with your little mosaic squares. Once this is place on your paper, get your embossing powder and place all over the rest of the sticky paper. Heat with your heat tool and there you have it. It is so simple and such a great effect. I made a whole heap at once, and you only need a little bit for each card. I hope you try this effect as I really enjoyed making them. Thanks for looking

Our first workshop

My fellow demonstrator Leonie (A stamper's World) and myself held our first workshop last Saturday night. A few of our friends had shown some interest in making some cards, so we invited them around for some make and take projects.

We made 3 different cards using Wild about you, Heartfelt thanks and Seasons of Joy.

I wont go into to much detail about the cards, as the overall night was great. Some great company and a nice bottle of wine. What could go wrong?

Thanks also to our upline Leanne who helped us on the night.

I hope everyone had a good time, and I look forward to the next one.

Well after a very long week I am back on the internet. My computer has been broken. I felt lost without it. Any way I have made a few card's and will put them up soon when I have some time. Hope all is well

Birthday Card

It's amazing what you can do with no children around. I got up this morning and decided to make another card from the Sweet Of You stamp set. I used the same colours as before, just added a birthday greeting from the For a Friend stamp set. Nice and quick.
